February

The publications Saisonküche and 20 Minuten conclude a cooperation agreement. A dish, which is capable of being prepared within 20 minutes, is to be presented on the online portal "20min.ch" every fortnight.

The 2009-2011 sponsorship strategy is geared to the quality promises "Swissness", "regionality" and "sustainability".

March

The new slogan "One M better" is launched. The message is clear: "Where there's Migros, there's added value".

Migros delegates approve the "Shelf Price Labelling" project at the Assembly of Delegates.

Migros is the first Swiss retailer to offer MSC certified fresh fish in its outlets.
The new Migros brand "M-Classic" is introduced. It stands for "impressive quality at the best possible price".

A new CO2 champion is introduced to the product range: the recycled kitchen paper Twister.

April

Following on from the Council of States, Switzerland's National Council approves the "Cassis de Dijon" principle. Migros has fought for years for this result through the Swiss retail stakeholder group IG DHS.

Migros and WWF conclude a long-term strategic partnership aimed at intensifying cooperation.

The Migros Aid Fund celebrates its 30th anniversary.

The label "From the region, for the region" celebrates its 10th anniversary.

May

According to the brand and consumer study "Brand Asset Valuator", Migros and M-Budget are among Switzerland's 20 strongest brands.

Switzerland's National Council decides in favour of the reintroduction of fixed prices for books. In response, Ex Libris extends its 30 per cent campaign.

As a high point of the Migros focus "sustainable living", the collection campaign "Stickermania - Adventure Rainforest" is launched.

Migros Lucerne, Micarna SA and the Migros Distribution Centre in Suhr are praised for their comprehensive occupational health management and are awarded the Friendly Workspace label.

The Migros advert wins bronze with its potato farming family at the international advertisement festival in Cannes.

Migros is the first retailer worldwide to indicate the electricity costs of all coffee machines in its range.

Migros extends its product range by a sustainable product line, Milette Naturals, with ecological nappies, baby natural cosmetics and wet wipes.

Migros is the company most respected by the Swiss. This is the finding of the study "Global Pulse".

New world record: a total of 1,093 golfers participated in the Migros Golfpark Trophy at six Migros golf parks.

Migros reduces prices of over 100 cooked and cured ham products.

Migros Bank launches the new investment fund Mi-Fund (CH) 45 Sustainable which invests exclusively in environmentally friendly and socially compatible projects.

The Club School Business and Google conclude an exclusive partnership. The beginners seminar "Google AdWords" is offered as a new course.

Migros France opens the Vitam'Parc in Neydens, the third location in France.

The first outlets to feature the 2010 store concept open in Kreuzlingen and Basel.

The first two Depot Interio brands in the Stücki (Basel) and Glattzentrum (Zurich) shopping centres are opened.

The Dominomania collection campaign is launched. Migros offers new fair-trade baby and children's wear made from organically grown cotton – certified in accordance with Max Havelaar.

Migros reduces prices of around 600 everyday products.

Migros launches the new health and sustainability magazine Vivai.

Migros launches distribution network in North America and founds M Industry Canada Inc.

November

Gillette recommends that retailers increase the price of shaver blades. Migros resists these exaggerated price recommendations and reduces prices – at its own expense – massively.

The new anti-aging cream by Mibelle makes headlines worldwide. The American fashion bible "Vogue" reports that even Michelle Obama uses the cream.

The website migros.ch goes mobile, thus complying with the demand for constant mobility.

The Migros Baby Club for toddlers up to three years of age is launched.
