Nationalities and Nations
Migros is a quintessentially Swiss company. The policy of diversity in employees and cultures practised so successfully at Migros is a typically Swiss success factor.
Percentage of foreign workers
In 2010, 72% of the employees at Migros were of Swiss nationality and 28% were foreign nationals. The percentage of foreign nationals has remained largely stable for years. More than one-third of the foreign workers were born in Switzerland and are therefore second- or even third-generation foreigners. In 2010 people from 145 nations were working together at Migros. This “diversity” is successfully applied as a consciously nurtured cultural variety by means of a tolerant and non-discriminatory working environment.
