Subsidiaries & Participatory Interests
The Migros Group includes the M-Industry companies, various retail and travel companies, Migros Bank and several foundations. On an organisational level, these are assigned to the CEO and the heads of the six departments of the FMC.
Generally, the subsidiaries are wholly owned by the Federation of Migros Cooperatives. They are managed directly by the heads of the respective departments, who are also responsible for appointing the board members. The chairman of the subsidiaries is usually a member of the Executive Board, which is responsible for the strategic orientation within the Migros Community.
The boards of directors are usually composed of internal members. External members are appointed if additional expertise is needed or if required by law. The FMC Board of Directors decides on external appointments, based on the recommendations of the Executive Board and the Remuneration and Nominations Committee.
