Trainees at Migros

People who do vocational training at Migros want to achieve something in life. That is borne out by an above average quota of trainees, success rate and continued employment rate, and the high quality of the professional qualifications in over 40 different trades and professions.

Trend
Despite the structural change in the provision of training places and the demographic-related decline in the number of school leavers, the New Talents training places marketing campaign launched in 2009 has succeeded in increasing the already high number of trainees by 2% to 3'328.

Trainee quota, success rate and continued employment rate
Compared to other major companies, Migros has a significantly higher quota of trainees (ratio of trainees to full-time posts). With a high training intensity, it therefore contrasts with the service sector, which otherwise offers less vocational training than the industrial and commercial sector.

The success rate in terms of qualifications gained is 98%. About 80% of vocational training leads to the award of a Swiss federal certificate. The average rate of continued employment in the Migros Group is 60%, and depending on the business unit is as high as 84%.
