Marketing of Training Places and quality Assurance
Vocational training provides two-thirds of young people in Switzerland with a foundation for their careers. It opens up a multitude of career prospects, is the basis for lifelong learning and with its direct link to the world of work provides a well-connected qualification. In 2010 Migros took further important steps in this direction.
With 3'328 trainees who are being trained in 43 different professions in over 40 enterprises, a 98% success rate and a continued employment rate of up to 84%, Migros has underlined its role and commitment to vocational training in Switzerland. The New Talents campaign launched in 2009 bore its first fruits in 2010. In spite of the structural change in the provision of training places and the demographic-related decline in the number of school leavers, as a result of the new training places marketing, not only have the training places been taken up, the already high number of trainees has also increased by 2%. At the same time, in the interests of high quality vocational training, Migros joined other associate partners in 2010 in taking important steps to quality assurance in various professional fields.
