Migros Sponsoring: Swissness, regionality and sustainable development
Migros has been supporting a large number of initiatives in the areas of culture, sport and environment as the main sponsor for many years. When sponsoring mainstream sporting events, ecological concerns and young talent projects, Migros bases its actions on three main values: Swissness, regionality and sustainable development.

Migros provides information about its many sponsorship activities and long-standing partnerships on its sponsoring web page. In 2013 the focus was on the Swiss Wrestling and Alpine Festival (ESAF), Switzerland's biggest recurring sporting event and one of its most important public festivals. It is held every three years in a different location.
In 2013 more than 300'000 visitors followed the events in Burgdorf, which revolved around the sports of wrestling, Hornussen and stone throwing, on three competition days in the Emmental Arena. The highlight of the festival was the crowning of the new King of Wrestling Sempach Matthias. In 2013 Migros supported the ESAF in Burgdorf as the king's partner for the third time, following its involvement in Aarau (2007) and Frauenfeld (2010). The next festival will be held in Estavayer in 2016.
In addition to Migros's sponsorship activities, the Migros Cooperative Aare was responsible for the VIP catering for 2500 VIP guests a day, as well as for a large proportion of the food deliveries. The visitors were also served at five public catering stands as well as a stand in the camping area.
In addition to the Swiss Wrestling Festivals, Migros has also been supporting a range of regional events, as well as the mountain wrestling festivals in Schwarzsee, Rigi, Weissenstein and Schwägalp, since 2007. As an exclusive young talent partner of the Swiss Wrestling Association (ESV), it supported the national wrestling insight day and the ESV's training camp for young talent. The insight day for girls of the Swiss Women's Wrestling Association (EFSV) was also supported, as was the young wrestlers king camp, which offers 10- to 15-year-olds the opportunity to train with the sport's best athletes. Migros also maintains a long-term partnership with the wrestling kings Abdenhalden Jörg and Wenger Kilian.
