The health of the population is important to Migros. In 2020, it underlined its commitment to health with new offers in the areas of dentistry, optometry and hearing aids, and with plant-based products.

Migros made contributions to the health sector across the entire group. For instance, the Medbase Group expanded its portfolio with a new strategic business segment by acquiring It also enhanced its network of medical contact points in order to ensure nearby assistance even in remote areas.

By entering the optometry and hearing aid markets, Migros has added a new strategic business segment to its health portfolio. MiSENSO AG combines the two areas of optometry and hearing aids. In the reporting year, two pilot branches were opened in Berne and Baden as a shop-in-shop concept.

Innovative plant-based products

In the area of nutrition, Migros significantly expanded its range of plant-based products and now stocks more than 780 certified vegan and vegetarian products. In the reporting year, the own brand V-Love was launched and the range increased to more than 60 products. With V-Love Vegurt, Migros-Industry succeeded in developing the world's first plant-based alternative to yoghurt, made from chickpeas.

In the reporting year, the health platform iMpuls provided some 5 million users with information, tips and services on topics relating to nutrition, exercise, relaxation and medicine – an increase of 24% in comparison with the previous year.
