Renewal of Collective Labour Agreements
Migros' national collective labour agreement (N-CLA) has a model and pacesetting function for 29 sectors and markets. On 1 January 2011, the first collective labour agreement for the Swiss travel industry came into force with CLA Travel. This was an initiative of the employees of the Migros' Travel unit. The negotiations on a new collective labour agreement between Magazine zum Globus AG, Office World AG and Interio AG, as well as their social partners, were also completed successfully. CLA remains the sole exclusive collective labour agreement in the department store sector, clothing retailing, stationery retailing and the furniture and interior decorating sector.
Migros' N-CLA continues to set standards
Migros’ national collective labour agreement (N-CLA) has stood for progressive, exemplary and responsible working conditions since 1983, and is today one of the best and biggest collective labour agreements in Switzerland. It applies to about 60 000 employees in 50 businesses. Its standards, benefits and achievements set national standards in 29 sectors and markets; the attractive working conditions often have an exemplary and pacesetting function. For this to stay this way, the Migros N-CLA has been continuously expanded in recent years and adjusted to new needs. The terms of the N-CLA should remain trailblazing in the future too: they remain guaranteed at Migros for years to come.
CLA Travel for all Hotelplan employees
On 1 January 2011 the first collective labour agreement for the Swiss travel industry came into force with CLA Travel. It was agreed by Hotelplan Suisse, Hotelplan Management and Interhome with the employees' association Travel - an in-house association of Migros - and will be valid until the end of 2014. The subsidiaries BTA First Travel, Travelwindow and Vacando will apply the CLA terms equally, which means that the companies of the Hotelplan Group in Switzerland will for the first time have standard working conditions. This will benefit some 1300 employees, who are either covered by a CLA for the first time or will be transferred from the expiring national collective labour agreement of the Migros Group to CLA Travel.
Collective labour agreement of Globus, Herren Globus, Interio and Office World
The employees' association ghio was founded by the employees of Globus, Herren Globus, Interio and Office World and is officially recognised by the companies as a social and contractual partner. This means that the interests of the employees can now be tabled in a crucial and co-determining way for important subjects. With the finalisation of a collective labour agreement as of 1 January 2012, employees are guaranteed progressive and responsible working conditions for another four years. This collective labour agreement sets the tone in family policy, further training and occupational health management, wage policy and social partnership, and governs the protection of whistleblowers and extracurricular youth work. It remains the sole exclusive collective labour agreement in the department store sector, clothing retailing, stationery retailing and the furniture and interior decorating sector.
