Personnel and Leadership Development
Migros actively supports the lifelong learning of employees and enables them to continuously expand their technical and social skills and knowledge. In addition to occupational teaching and learning opportunities as well as professional advancement options, Migros offers a varied further education range from specialist training to management methods through to personal development as a competent manager.
Migros does not leave professional development to chance. It is conducted on a skills-oriented basis and ensures that it meets personal and operational needs, promotes the key qualifications and is effective in the long term. In the employee appraisal meetings held periodically, the necessary measures are discussed and agreed annually.
As regards the best fulfilment of their role and the development of the necessary skills, employees have a right to financial support and the time needed. In 2011 Migros companies invested a total of more than CHF 35 million in the further education of their employees, excluding wage payments during further education and other absence costs.
Employees who are committed to advancing themselves professionally in their free time are also supported. When attending training sessions and courses at the Migros Club School or external providers for specialist training, the option exists that the company bears part of the costs.
