Saviva acquires Lüchinger+Schmid AG

M-Industry's Saviva has acquired Lüchinger+Schmid AG. The retail and manufacturing company is known for selling eggs and egg products, as well as chilled fresh and frozen goods. With the takeover, wholesale delivery is being expanded considerably and the market position of Migros' own industry further reinforced.

Migros Cooperative Zurich acquires Marinello AG

The Migros Cooperative Zurich has taken over the food stores and employees of Marinello AG. As the Marinello brand will be retained by the food delivery company Marinello & Co AG, Migros will convert the existing five branches. One of them will become the Shopville Märt at Zurich Central Station, featuring fresh-food counters.

Migros is the most popular brand

Migros is Switzerland's favourite brand. According to the Brand Predictor study by the advertising agency Havas Worldwide Switzerland, it has moved up to first place, with M-Budget following in second and Nespresso in third. The study determines the top brands based on a combination of the two categories 'dynamism' and 'trustworthiness'.

Migros extends its leading position in the area of e-commerce

Migros has increased its stake in the Swiss online retailer Galaxus from 40% to 70%. Galaxus operates the two online shops Digitec and Galaxus. As a majority shareholder of Digitec/Galaxus AG, the Migros Group is extending its undisputed leading position in the area of e-commerce.

 

Migros voted most reputable company

Migros enjoys the best reputation among Switzerland's leading 52 companies, according to GfK Business Reflektor 2015. The survey is based on 3500 interviews, which assesses aspects such as image, awareness, quality, innovation, emotional components and sustainability.

Inventor of the World Wide Web awarded 2015 Gottlieb Duttweiler Award

Timothy Berners-Lee, the inventor of the World Wide Web, was awarded the 2015 Gottlieb Duttweiler Award. The prestigious award is presented to people who make an outstanding contribution to the well-being of the wider community. Previous winners include Václav Havel and Kofi Annan.

Collection service PickMup launched

Migros has launched the collection service PickMup, which allows customers to collect online orders from a chosen location. The Migros Group is thereby combining its extensive network of branches with some of Switzerland's biggest online shops, including Digitec and LeShop.

Migros introduces new retail strategy

Migros has introduced its new retail strategy, based on the principle of "shaping the future together". The strategy has been drawn up in close collaboration between the regional cooperatives and the Federation of Migros Cooperatives. The majority of the initiatives are due to be implemented by 2019.

Medbase acquires 70% of santémed health centres

The Migros subsidiary Medbase has acquired 70% of the SWICA santémed health centres and thereby stepped up its commitment in the health sector. The partnership has given rise to Switzerland's largest network for basic outpatient medical care.

M-Industry supports ETH professorship for sustainable food processing

M-Industry is supporting an ETH professorship for sustainable food processing. The newly appointed assistant professorship researches the development of new procedures for making the production of food more environmentally friendly and sustainable – from the molecules through to the food on the store shelves.

Christmas donation campaign raises more than CHF 6 million

With the 2015 Christmas donation campaign, Migros customers showed their strong support for children in need in Switzerland. They raised more than CHF 6 million, all of which has been donated to four aid organisations in Switzerland.
