As the largest private employer in Switzerland, Migros mirrors society in many ways. Migros approaches political, social, economic and demographic trends and challenges in an effective, active and progressive way.
In 2014, the number of employees rose by 3'180 to 97'456. Migros offers 84'000 jobs in Switzerland, of which an increasing number are part-time positions for men and women. The percentage of women in managerial positions rose again in the reporting year (+6.7%).
Migros' efforts to ensure a healthy workplace appear to be working, with the health rate slightly up on the previous year. Migros employed 3'650 trainees in the reporting year, thereby exceeding its Generation M promise of offering 3'300 trainee positions in 2014. Migros has made the same promise for each of the two following years.
